JOHN BAMETZ
I never thought that one day I will be into photography. At the age of 21, a photographer asked me if I was interested in learning photography. He was looking for an assistant and was willing to teach me the basics. At that time, I was working in a clothing store, selling clothes but most of the time, cleaning the store… not very exciting. I remember the first time I was shooting a wedding. As an assistant, I was snapping pics from the side, trying my best not to disturb my “master”, and learn the most by watching him work.
One day, he said to me: “I need you to go to Luxemburg, for a wedding, I can not go with you, I have another wedding that day… It is time for you to go alone.”
I was scared like s..t but I guess that’s how you grow your skills.
That’s how I started photography, a meeting and a question: “Are you interested in learning photography?”
